1). Unhappy? Change It.

You have the ability to change the situation around you if you’re unhappy with it. Whether that is making the best of a bad situation or entirely leaving the situation. You have the ability to change the situation – never forget that!

2). Some people come into your life to teach you a lesson.

Certain people come into your life to teach you a lesson. You might not know the lesson at the time, it might only become clear in a few years. But I am a strong believer of that.

3). How to make the perfect cup of tea.

One tea bag, four teaspoons of milk and two teaspoons of honey. Done you’ve made yourself the best tea sit back and enjoy!

4). Maintaining friendships is worth your time.

Maintaining friendships takes time. When maintaining friendships it takes lots of time but if you are both willing to put in the work then some friendships will never lose their strength. Treasure those friendships those are your people don’t let them go without a fight!

5). Gut Instinct.

One thing I have finally come to accept is that your gut instinct is always right. So make sure you listen to it!

6). Disneyland is my happy place.

This year I have bought a Disneyland Pairs annual pass after quickly realising it is my happy place. Full of magic, adventure and thrill. Become the secret five year old everyone is at heart. Of course who can deny the excitement of wearing the perfect disneybound?

7). Tight Deadlines can actually be a good thing?

The anxiety that comes hand in hand with tight deadlines can be actually be the fix you need to get you back on track.

8). It’s okay not to be okay.

2017 has been a hell of a year! I did worse than what I expected on my exams, my anxiety increased and I lost my grandad in the last few weeks on the year. All this taught me it’s okay not to be okay, sometimes bad things happen and it’s okay to reach out to help. One thing I’ve learned is however bad the situation is it will get better never lose hope!

9). Cures.

Don’t underestimate the power of a hot tea, chocolate and a Disney movie to cure you on a bad day.

10). Don’t take yourself to seriously.

Life is too short. Don’t waste time taking yourself to seriously, laugh and joke. You’re be happier.

11). I’m not a child anymore.

I’m 18 in just a few months, so I should’ve probably have figured this out earlier but I’m not a child anymore. With my childhood friends applying to universities, a stable part time job and driving lessons it’s safe to say I am not a child anymore.

12). Smile :)

A simple smile can have many meanings. A simple smile can trick your mind set into being more positive and make a strangers day. So as Mcfly once said, just remember to smile and turn the world around.

13). Don’t settle.

If you think you can do better you probably can.

14). Break your boundaries.

This year I took part in NCS and it taught me something important. Break your boundaries and be a risk taker. If you think you can’t do it the more reason that you should do it!

15). Don’t apologize for being you.

Over time, people have called me out for being odd or being too loud or too quiet. You can’t let people dictate who you are because you don’t fit the set mould they wanted you to be. Be the most accurate version of you and don’t ever apologize for being you.

16). You can end up being friends with the least likely people.

If you had told me I would be leaving 2017 with the friends I have now I would have likely laughed at you. When I changed college this year I found myself for the first time in a friendship group of mostly lads. From going from an only girl’s secondary school to now being one of the only girls in my college is a strange but great thing. I have met great friends in the last couple of months and feel very grateful to have them all in my life. If you are one of them reading this right now I won’t ever say it to your face but I really do appreciate you in my life ha!

17). (We’ve finally reached the end!) Life is too short not to experiment.

Dye your hair the colours of the rainbow. Learn a musical instrument. Wear a dress every day of the week. We are always evolving. Experiment. Find out what you like and go for it.
